 My chosen radio station is Capital FM the Multiplatform method Capital use is FM which means Frequency modulation it was developed in the US in the 1930s meaning its newer than AM which was developed in the mid 1870s FM has a better signal quality because it has more bandwidth than AM but FM can be disrupted by physical barriers. AM is lot cheaper than FM but can travel long distances because of its strength but is more susceptible to noise.


Capital use a platform called DAB this means (Digital Audio Broadcasting) which is similar to AM and FM which uses radio signals to reach the listener but the only differences is that DAB compresses the data meaning that the information that is sent is reduced and broken down by using a format called MPEG. With COFDM technology is makes the audio sound clear and this is a reliable and robust method of using radio as its not very prone to noise or interference capital use this and it gives them the best quality audio this also means people can listen to the radio via smartTV and car radios.

Capital also use online radio which can be accessed online from a computer or even via your smartphone through the Capital app available on the android an apple stores.

Furthermore, Capital offers many online methods that listeners can access their content. To 'broadcast' your Web Radio, you first need to convert the live audio to a stream of data that can be delivered to connected devices via the internet. This process is called encoding can be done with hardware devices.

 the radio product has a strong beginning we achieved this by making sure that we would have a intro to the radio introducing each member of the production we ensured this by practiced multiple times so that when we recorded the final product it would seem as natural as possible. Our strengths I believe are the different sound effects that we used as I feel like they make our production feel more alive and gives its a great atmosphere.
