My chosen radio station is Capital FM the Multiplatform method Capital use is FM which means Frequency modulation it was developed in the US in the 1930s meaning its newer than AM which was developed in the mid 1870s FM has a better signal quality because it has more bandwidth than AM but FM can be disrupted by physical barriers. AM is lot cheaper than FM but can travel long distances because of its strength but is more susceptible to noise. Capital use a platform called DAB this means (Digital Audio Broadcasting) which is similar to AM and FM which uses radio signals to reach the listener but the only differences is that DAB compresses the data meaning that the information that is sent is reduced and broken down by using a format called MPEG.
